I watched American Idol tonight, as I like to do on occasion. Laugh at me if you must, but there are some truly talented singers on board and I enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoy laughing at the truly awful ones who think they're actually good. Tonight I was blown away by the guest star Robin Thicke, who is Alan Thicke's son; Alan Thicke, who played Dr. Jason Seaver on that 80's sitcom Growing Pains, and the same Alan Thicke who I keep seeing in these timeshare vacation getaways for Las Vegas, standing up to his knees in the middle of some fountain telling me "The party starts when you get here". I was blown away by his son, not only because I kept picturing Alan, but because this guy's falsetto is outrageously pre-pubescent. I understand he's an award winner? His range his OK and he was able to make a few good runs and stay in tune, but man oh man, I was waiting for his testicles to drop throughout the entire thing. I can't believe this guy was actually a guest on a show watched by millions of people. It would appear that I'm not the only one with this view.
