Another minor release of subtext has been, uh, released. A list of new features and bug fixes can be found on Steven Harman's Blog. You can tell Steve is passionate about the project.
It's also nice to see a patch I made included: I fixed the error page to now output an HTTP 404 response code where it wasn't before. Somewhat gratifying, but somewhat frustrating at the same time. Why? Well, It took me all of 10 minutes to find, mull over, fix, test, mull over again, and then submit it, but it took many moons/weeks before it's here in version 1.9.3. I'm ok with that though: It wouldn't make sense to release a new version for every single little bug fix. You'd have 10 new versions per day. It takes time to install, document, and support new versions. I try to think of subtext as a fine wine. It's not a cheap bottle of table wine that you crack open and guzzle down with your pasta. It's choice grapes, hand picked at just the right time, aged in oak barrels, with many subtle and complex notes and flavors. Swirl. Sniff. Taste. Swish. Assess. It's not something that happens every day, but when it finally does you think to yourself, "Where have you been all my life?"
