I figured it was about time I revived my parked domain (where my parking host had lovingly put some adsense on it).  Now I can put my own adsense on it.

There was a time when I would've been the only one of my peers to have a blog, but back then blog was synonymous with some sort of personal journal and that's it.  With all the identity theft and other bad things that happen when one divulges their information online, I've been quite skeptical that it would be the best use of my time.  Sure there are those who claim it's therapeutic,  but that wasn't much of a reason to invest the time and effort;  I'd rather have a glass of wine and a dip in the hot tub.

Now of course times have changed.  Blogs are intellectual property and with all of the trackbacking and commenting, you're really plugging yourself into a like-minded community.  Of course the community varies and can be related to your personal interests, your work interests, or both.    Seeing as how various projects I'm involved with continue to grow, it's only a matter of time before I'm the only one without my own blog.  I don't know how often I will post here, but hopefully I will have the occasional bit of insight to impart and I won't end up like this.

Much to Greg's dismay , I did not choose wordpress as my blogging platform (though I'm currently flaunting the wordpress theme that comes with subtext).  I do think its the best one out there presently, but I chose SubText because a) It's written in ASP.net which I'm usually neck deep in and I might be able to customize it to my needs as time goes on, b) I wanted to give some love to the hardworking guys who built this fine product and c) like wordpress I could install it myself quite cost effectively.  Who knows, perhaps I will be inclined to give feedback to the subtext team as my use progresses.  It never hurts to have choices out there.

So whether you're here because you're interested in a .net problem that I've tackled, or because you want the inside scoop about some project we're working on (though it goes without saying that I shall endeavor to not reveal any corporate secrets), then welcome!    I hope you enjoy the Dave Frank Flava!
